We see them all the time, top 10...top 50...top 100 lists, etc.   So what's different about this top 100 list?   It was compiled by a panel of 55 musicians, writers, and industry executives.   Each of the artists had an short essay written by one of their peers.  There was everyone from Booker T and the MG's (who I had honestly never heard of) to Nine inch Nails; from The Temptations to Queen; from Elvis Presley to The Grateful Dead.  It covered all bases, genres, tastes and (sorry) lack of taste. Here are a few of the highlights: Between 100 - 81:       #90 Carlos Santana, essay by Henry Garza of Los Lonely Boys.   " He's a pioneer of Latin rock & roll: His music was something new, but it was intertwined with everything else that was out there at the time — Sixties rock, Latin jazz and more....   Carlos isn't the lead singer, but he is the maestro. "    #88 Jay-Z, essay by Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend.   "J ay-Z...w

True Confession ~ What is in your CD case Dj?   When my husband, Rodney, and I bought our 2015 Nissan Sentra it came with Sirius XM (which I looooove!) so I haven't really pulled out any cd's to listen to lately.  The last time I did was when we took a trip down to Beaver, Utah to visit Rodney's mother, and that was months ago.  So here goes... In the first spot we have Imagine Dragons "Night Moves" (excellent) Next we have two Better Than Ezra cds.  "Deluxe" is my favorite BTE cd.   Years ago when I moved from Boise, Idaho to Mesa, Arizona BTE's "Deluxe" got a lot of play.  And again just a few months later when we high-tailed it out of Arizona back to Idaho in December in the middle of a snow storm.   It  was great to be back home in Idaho!! Sorry...I digress ...moving on... What case is complete without some real 90's rock-n-roll??  So, of course, next comes Creed "Greatest Hits"

My Introduction to the Music of Muse (dedicated to my dear, sweet granddaughter Chasity) There is a channel on YouTube called watchmojo.com that gives top 10 lists.  Top 10 Singers That Sold Out, Top 10 Drummers of All Time, Top 10 80's Hair Bands, etc. Anything you can think of (and some things that you never thought about thinking about). One day at work a top 10 list came into my YouTube feed called "top 10 Inspirational People With Autism or Asperger Syndrome.  I thought of my granddaughter, Chas, who received the same diagnosis several years ago.  I gave it a listen.  Among the people listed were Daryl Hannah, Dan Akroid and Susan Boyle.  I knew who they are so no big surprise there.  Then came #5, a kid from California named James Durbin.  He was a contestant on the 2011 season of American Idol, and man...can that kid wail! One of the songs that he performed was "Uprising" by Muse.  He came onto the stage through a tunnel with a drum corp (no b
