True Confession ~ What is in your CD case Dj?   When my husband, Rodney, and I bought our 2015 Nissan Sentra it came with Sirius XM (which I looooove!) so I haven't really pulled out any cd's to listen to lately.  The last time I did was when we took a trip down to Beaver, Utah to visit Rodney's mother, and that was months ago.  So here goes... In the first spot we have Imagine Dragons "Night Moves" (excellent) Next we have two Better Than Ezra cds.  "Deluxe" is my favorite BTE cd.   Years ago when I moved from Boise, Idaho to Mesa, Arizona BTE's "Deluxe" got a lot of play.  And again just a few months later when we high-tailed it out of Arizona back to Idaho in December in the middle of a snow storm.   It  was great to be back home in Idaho!! Sorry...I digress ...moving on... What case is complete without some real 90's rock-n-roll??  So, of course, next comes Creed "Greatest Hits"

My Introduction to the Music of Muse (dedicated to my dear, sweet granddaughter Chasity) There is a channel on YouTube called watchmojo.com that gives top 10 lists.  Top 10 Singers That Sold Out, Top 10 Drummers of All Time, Top 10 80's Hair Bands, etc. Anything you can think of (and some things that you never thought about thinking about). One day at work a top 10 list came into my YouTube feed called "top 10 Inspirational People With Autism or Asperger Syndrome.  I thought of my granddaughter, Chas, who received the same diagnosis several years ago.  I gave it a listen.  Among the people listed were Daryl Hannah, Dan Akroid and Susan Boyle.  I knew who they are so no big surprise there.  Then came #5, a kid from California named James Durbin.  He was a contestant on the 2011 season of American Idol, and man...can that kid wail! One of the songs that he performed was "Uprising" by Muse.  He came onto the stage through a tunnel with a drum corp (no b

#98 Steve Adler - G-n-R It's no secret to my friends....I love the drums and drummers!  To me, the drums make the song.  About 6 months ago I came across a YouTube channel called "watchmojo.com" and listened to their top 10 list of drummers, top 10 female drummers and top 10 male drummers.  When I came across the Rolling Stone's top 100 drummers I was intrigued, to say the least.   https://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/100-greatest-drummers-of-all-time-20160331 Over the weekend I painstakingly went through the list one by one, listened to the drummers that I could find on YouTube, researched their biographies, looked them up on Wikipedia, checked out photos on Google Images, etc.  Basically, i disappeared for two days.  There are some drummers I had never heard of or had passed away before I was born.  But the men and women that I had the pleasure of listening to impressed me.   I also disagreed with their list many, many times.  There were some pr
My friend and co-worker, Kaylee, suggested that I try this outlet to talk about my feelings and opinions on my love of music, so here we go... The movie "Grease" was my introduction to music in movies and I thought it was awesome!  Then I started high school and everyone seemed to know the music that played on the radio...and I didn't.  So, I asked my mom for a radio to put in my bedroom.  Instead, I was given a record player, which I thought was really cool!  I didn't have any friends that had a record player in their bedrooms.   I listened to my mom's albums - Barbara Streisand, Neil Diamond, Simon & Garfunkel, John Denver, The Beatles, etc.  Certainly not the music that played on the radio when I was 13.  Around that time, my step-dad took a music appreciation class and started listening to and dissecting the music of Bach, Mozart, and Rachmaninoff - and while he was at work, I listened too.  The first albumn that I bought was AC/DC's "Back
